Our mathematical models not only knows your pumps' flow and pressure characteristics, it also knows you pumps' dynamic power consumption. Based on this knowledge, our optimization algorithm always runs your pump system with the least amount of energy possible.
The graph shows our power model for a multi pump system consisting of three pumps. The power optimization algorithm calculates, for every requested pressure, what pump speeds are needed if you use only one pump, two pumps, or three pumps, and what the power usage will be for every option. After the calculations the controller naturally chooses the scheme with the lowest power consumption. In this example running two pumps with 1800 RPM is the lowest power consuming solution.
Because the Optimal Multi Pump Controller always makes sure that you are only using the minimum power needed for your requested pressure and flow reference, it often distributes the load among various pumps, so that you won't put too much load on a single pump. This reduces wear on the single pump and therefore makes sure your pump system runs smooth and healthy.
